Choosing a replacement vacuum bag
The correct vacuum bag is identified by the cleaner model and the bag's fitting system, not simply by its approximate size. Keep those identifiers together before buying a large replacement pack.

Find the complete model information
Locate the vacuum's rating plate according to the manual and record the full model designation. Similar-looking cleaners can use different bags or filter arrangements. Photograph the relevant label for your own shopping reference, avoiding any unnecessary personal information. Compare the model with the bag manufacturer's explicit compatibility list rather than a general brand name on the front of a packet.
If an old bag is available, record its code and collar shape as a secondary check. Do not treat an unmarked bag left by a previous owner as proof of correct fit. Miele's maintenance instructions, for example, pair model identification with specified bag designations. The same principle applies when locating the correct documentation for another cleaner.
Check the collar and closing arrangement
The bag must seat in the intended holder and meet the inlet as designed. A similar paper or fabric body is not enough if the collar, seal or locating tabs differ. Follow the fitting instructions and do not trim a collar to make an incompatible bag enter the holder. A forced lid is a signal to stop and recheck the installation.
Read how the bag is removed and whether a closing flap or automatic closure is part of the design. Emptying and reusing a disposable bag should not be assumed permissible. Use the replacement method specified for the model and keep the cleaner disconnected during maintenance as directed. Avoid shaking the old bag unnecessarily while transferring it for disposal.
Do not confuse bags with other filters
A bag pack may include additional filters, but the cleaner's exhaust and motor-protection arrangements remain separate checks. Read the exact maintenance schedule and compatible part types in the manual. An included flat filter is not automatically a substitute for every fitted filter cartridge. Keep the correct parts identifiable before opening several packets at once.
Washability must be explicitly documented for the particular filter. A fabric-like appearance does not establish that a bag or filter can be rinsed. Follow the cleaner's instructions for replacement, cleaning and drying where relevant. Reinstalling an unsuitable or incorrectly maintained component is not a useful way to save the cost of the correct consumable.
Keep a small, traceable supply
Store spare bags dry and in their labeled packaging, away from objects that can puncture or crush the collar. Keep enough for the normal replacement routine rather than buying a bulk pack before compatibility is confirmed. After fitting the first replacement, check that the cover closes normally and the bag sits as instructed. Note the successful code on the household supply list so the next purchase is straightforward.
